| | CONTENT ORGANIZATION |
| |
To illustrate and review the courses of the twelve cranial nerves from their nuclei to the exit foramina, with the benefit of selected multiplanar MR and CT imaging. To pose relevant questions with the correct answers revealed.
•I Olfactory nerve
•II Optic Nerve
•III Oculomotor nerve
•IV Trochlear nerve
•V Trigeminal nerve
•VI Abducens nerve
•VII Facial nerve
•VIII Vestibulocochlear nerve
•IX Glossopharyngeal nerve
•X Vagus nerve
•XI Spinal Accessory nerve
•XII Hypoglossal nerve

| | SUMMARY |
| |
1. To know the location of the nuclei, intracranial course, major divisions and exit foramina of each of the twelve cranial nerves.
2. To see the course of the nerves superimposed on multiplanar imaging and where possible, see the actual nerves on high resolution MR imaging.
3. To appreciate where each cranial nerve may be prone to damage or pathological involvement.
4. A strategy to investigate a cranial nerve palsy should include thorough systematic examination along its course.
